People might be bothered by kissing, which I saw in other reviews, so I'll give you a warning for that, especially in the first couple chapters (maybe first or second?) when America and this guy are kissing in a tree house or something (I can't remember his name right now, it's Sven or Aspen or something like that) I don't know what Maxon saw in her, she was disrespectful to him, kicked him in the crotch, yelled at him, and somehow he didn't care. America, the main character might have been better than some of the other girls, but she was all "oh no, I love the guy from back home but I like the prince oh no, do I want the crown or do I want to be happy and poor," and she was overall very annoying. For some people it might be older or younger, but I gave it 11+ because I think as long as kids can see and recognize how horrible of a role model these girls are, they should be able to read this book without many problems. In terms of the age rating, I gave it 11+. The idea was decent, but the execution was horrible. I get that some people can't see how bad the writing is, so I don't mean to insult anyone, but I couldn't finish this.
Read the one by kiera cass professional#
I'm obviously not a professional writer, but the fact that even I, a 13 year old, has better writing than this published book by an adult, is impressive. Why did I ever think this was good?įor starters, the writing is TERRIBLE. Cass announced another book following The Heir, The Crown, which was released on. citation needed First, The Elite, was published in 2013. This year, I was looking for books to read, and this was free on my kindle. On August 14, 2014, Kiera Cass announced that The Selection series would be expanding into more books. I read this last year, and I thought it was good, at the time.
